Church Bulletin
The church crashed zoom! This appears to be what happened on Sunday, when people struggled to join us for coffee after the morning service and then later the St Andy’s service was forced to switch to another platform. People were reporting from all over the country that zoom wasn’t functioning properly on Sunday. Since this is the first time there have been such problems since so many switched to online conferencing following the corona lockdown, it’s hard to escape the conclusion that it was the church that done it! A reminder that God has placed in the hearts of men and woman a desire to worship that even the mighty virus cannot conquer.
Ascension
Tomorrow, Thursday 21st May is the Feast of Ascension, when we mark Christ’s leaving this world to go into heaven. To celebrate this, we will be posting a service led by Greg (in a similar format to Sunday mornings) at 7 p.m. Just visit the website to find it. Thanks to Steve Martin for putting this together.
Thy Kingdom Come
Pray for 5 is an initiative connected to Thy Kingdom Come. This move of prayer, launched by our Archbishops 4 years ago has swept around the world, taking in churches of every denomination. It encourages the church and individual believers to pray for their family, friends and nation during the period between Ascension (May 21st) and Pentecost (May 31st). This year we are specifically encouraged by our own Bishop among others to pray for 5. Each evening at around 6 p.m. we will be posting a 2 minute video as a prompt to prayer. You should watch them and then pray for as short or as long a period afterwards as you wish. These will be posted on the website and are designed to be played each day at that time, but can be played at any time (2 or 3 together if you prefer). Thanks to Lesley Lee who will be posting out material to those not online.
Open Heaven
For your diaries, the churches of Coventry are planning to prayer walk every street in the city during the month of June. There are nearly 100 churches committed to making this happen. We would like St Andrews/St Andy’s to be part of ensuring that Eastern Green/Allesley Green and Tile Hill are included in this. The opportunity to reserve streets via an app opens this evening, so if there is a special street you would like to prayer walk, please download the app from the Open Heaven website or let Julie or Greg know as soon as possible. We will be sharing resources as to how to go about prayer walking nearer the time. If you are experienced at using apps, you might like to volunteer to be a guide to others who are less familiar. Please let us know if you are able to help.
For your prayers
Please pray for Mike Lynch who has been readmitted to hospital, being very weak because of his cancer treatment. Do pray also for Jackie at this worrying and tiring time.

Tastelife
We will be running a second Tastelife course, commencing Thursday June 4th for 8 weeks, following the success of the first course. Tastelife is a course aimed at those suffering with eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. It is also suitable for carers.
