Pews News – 16th March 2014

16th March 2014

Welcome
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality.  You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith.  If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.

Welcome back..!!
A warm welcome to Greg, Fran and Daniel who are returning this Sunday after their cruise – we are looking forward to hearing all about their adventures!

Window Fund
We are close to completing work on the subsidence that has so badly affected St Andrew’s Church building.  That work should be complete by the end of next month.  However, despite the incredible generosity of church members and other parishioners, we are approximately £1800 short of the amount we need to pay contractors and engineers.  We would be immensely grateful to anyone able to make any further donation to this vital project.

Allesley Green Fun Day
St Andrew’s will be organising a Fun Day on Monday 5th May in Allesley Green (Woodbridge Avenue). One of the church’s events will be the PLANT STALL for which we would like the donation of plants and helpers to man the stall. If you can help please let Trevor Hill or David Griffiths know – 01675 442240 or email edgriff@uwclub.net.

Easter Flowers
To decorate the church for Easter costs a lot of money for the flowers.  If you wish to make a donation towards the cost, please see Ann Dove.

Mothers Day Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to make up Mothering Sunday bunches of flowers, on Saturday 29th March at 9am in the side room.  Please see Ann Dove.

Boxes of Weekly Offering Envelopes for the tax year beginning in April are now at the back of the church.  If you are a tax payer, Gift Aiding benefits our church by enabling us to claim tax relief on your donations at the end of each year.  Thanks to all those who have completed Gift Aid Forms and Gift Aid Envelopes (from the back of the pews) we were repaid £7306 by the Inland Revenue for the last Tax Year.  Anyone not already giving regularly and who would like Offering Envelopes, or regular givers who are tax payers and would like to complete a Gift Aid Form, please contact Richard Marr (Tel: 01676 522697).
